It was a lovely opportunity to travel (nearly home) to Cardiff to offer a workshop at a Lapidus International event at the weekend.
Lapidus promotes writing for wellbeing and the benefits it brings. They support a wide range of membership including practitioners who are writing for wellbeing practitioners working in education and health.
On Sept 8th they hosted a conference event Experiencing the Expressive Arts at the lovely Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff in response to a growing interest as an organisation to include the potential of other arts based practices and therapies to promote health and wellbeing.
Lapidus have been particularly interested in the way our approach moves from connecting to and working with the body into improvised writing and the potential this has to generate material to devise theatre as well as promote wellbeing.
It was great to meet practitioners from different backgrounds - NHS practitioners, counsellors, words for wellbeing practitioners, a performance poet and other artists - their lively engagement in our work was much appreciated.
Just to also say we had lunch at Chapter Arts Centre which was particularly delicious - and NO packaging in sight !
